Reinventing the wheel.
High rate production of advanced composite wheels.
Built on our proprietary 3D FORM™ technology, Oribi SPIN™ is the industry’s first production solution for circular-shaped, continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite structures. Oribi SPIN™ combines automation, robotics, and high-speed thermoforming with the inherent strength and durability of continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic resins. This revolutionary processing technology enables the adoption of thermoplastic composite materials for complex, circular parts.
SPIN™ creates fully consolidated and trimmed structural composite components in less than 2 minutes, with no touch labor. As a result, the high-rate production of wheels, structural seals and gaskets, and other circular components is now possible from Oribi. This unique combination of materials science and automation technology is the first to truly enable local sourcing of advanced composite parts, affordably and in high volumes.
We now offer carbon fiber ATV/UTV wheels improving your performance and experience while off-road.
Oribi’s continuous fiber-reinforced thermoplastic technology offers a proven and unique solution to the challenges seen in the off-road environment. By selecting materials that inherently have excellent impact and chip resistance, and processing them in our highly automated, high throughput process, Oribi is ready to offer you a new level of confidence in your vehicle.
Compare the weight.
The weight difference between wheel materials can be significant. The Oribi carbon wheel is the lightest when compared to steel or aluminum wheels. The wheel is unsprung mass and will make a much bigger impact on ride, handling, acceleration, and braking when compared to simply removing the weight from the sprung portion of your UTV.
Aluminum is the industry standard in the ATV/UTV market and yet, impressively, the Oribi carbon wheel outperformed aluminum in the impact test at an independent test facility. After impact, the aluminum wheel was damaged and would need to be replaced, while the Oribi wheel took the impact and returned to its original shape. This is the superiority of the Oribi design and advanced composites working together in harmony.
